Creating New Sites

However, you don’t necessarily need to know all this information prior to creating a new site under your organisation in the DRMS. This information that you will need to know before creating a site is as follows:

  • The name you want to call the new site
  • The associated ICP number and preferably the meter number
  • The load type and the loads capacity
  • The verification method you would like to use for the new site
If you have this information and perhaps not all of the other information listed under ‘Existing Sites’ you can use the following link to the electricity authority website. If you enter the ICP Number and press submit the remaining fields for a new site can be filled.https://www.ea.govt.nz/consumers/your-power-data-in-your-hands/my-meter/

Load Types

The load available at a site is split by load type. The current load types displayed in the DRMS are:

  • Lighting
  • HVAC
  • Generation
  • Pumping Equipment
  • General Load Control
  • Hydro + Storage
  • Battery

Additional load types will be added to the DRMS as the need arises. When a site or substation is saved with a non-zero amount of load for a given load type, it is automatically tagged with the same load type so that this can be searched upon.

Verification Methods

When creating a new Site or Substation, a verification method is selected. This method describes the calculation method used to calculate the baseline and load shed after an event has completed. The verification methods currently offered on the DRMS are:

  • 3 day SAA
  • 5 day SAA
  • Meter Before – Meter After
